The idea behind Mobble was released to the public less than a week ago (July 2018), and what a week it's been! We had the opportunity to host a stall at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo and since then have been in constant conversation with farmers and key individuals in the Ag industry, taking in valuable thoughts and suggestions. We have been listening, learning and developing these ideas directly into our software.
For those who don’t know…Mobble is an easy-to-use Farm & Livestock Management Application. It is being developed as a full-farm record system to assist any farming style, supplying the tools to save time & increase productivity. Click here to be redirected to the website.
What we learnt at Bendigo:
Mobble will already cater the first three of our findings, however, software that is suitable for both livestock AND cropping management, had only been partially considered. Roughly half of the farmers we talked to at Bendigo ran mixed farming operations. This drove us to explore software possibilities for farmers, that deal with the growing of crops and the raising of livestock, side-by-side. So, this week, I found myself at Banongill East, in Skipton Victoria, spending a couple of days building my insight on the ins and outs of a mixed farming operation. We dove into the need for seamless communication between the agronomist to the farmer, how the cropping side of the operation effects livestock management, and the typical methods used for recording this information. Mobble, was built with the intention of being practical and flexible, therefore, our findings from this trip are being implemented into the software, creating, what we believe, is a very versatile product.
We are currently doing in-house testing, we will be trialing the software on the family farm in North Central Victoria shortly! A huge shout-out to my mum, Deb Lawrence, for cooking over 100 biscuits and helping us out at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo. Thanks Mum!
