Here we go. Second update for the year.
EvokeAG is the Asia Pacific's largest agrifood tech event bringing the opportunity for movers and shakers of agriculture to network and talk big picture stuff. But it's missing one thing, farmers. I caught up with Dwain Duxson from Farm Tender who said it best "the whole show is not commercial or relevant to Farmers, they want them there in droves, but it's not attractive to that audience on many levels."
Meanwhile, across the ditch, New Zealand has got this fantastic event called Fieldays. It integrates all the big talk and innovation into a rather normal field day for the farmer. This way, you get everyone there, not just the corporates.
This is a new one for me (and it's a little rough and ready)- Mobble hits the podcast world with Mobble's Farmers. Where I talk to the farmers who use Mobble and run interesting farming businesses - what I am trying to do is get a feel for what it's like to be in their shoes, and dig into their views on the challenges and promises of farming and the agricultural industry.
And the goal here is so the rest of our farming community can learn from their examples and go on to keep improving our own farming businesses.
Although not released on all the platforms just yet, you can listen to it via our website here.
A group of farmers that use Mobble every day have invested in our open capital raise. This is extremely humbling, and it shows us that there's belief that we are going in the right direction for the farmer.
So far we have raised $100k - 33% on our way to our goal of keeping Mobble farmer owned. If you love Mobble and would like to consider investing contact j@mobble.io for more information.
As I write this I'm sitting on a plane to WA to spend a week over here visiting farmers, clients, and attend the Woolorama field day in Wagin to showcase our farm & livestock management software, Mobble. Please get in touch if you'd like me to drop by, keen to get on the ground talking to as many producers as possible.
Onwards & upwards,
Jock Lawrence (Chief Mobbler)
